Starting off with the specifications and I am impressed how well-positioned the Megaflint Torque Converter really is. It is a 30-series torque converter which means it is available in a variety of combinations. You can either get it for a #40/41 chain or for a #35 chain. Depending upon the configuration you choose you either get a sprocket with 10 teeth for #40/41 and 12 teeth for #35 chain.

Both of these models may differ in terms of the chain size but they are identical when it comes to building quality. First up, the build quality is top-notch. it is every bit as well-made as the offering from Megaflint.

Here’s my takeaway: The torque converter can engage with an average RPM of 2350 without breaking down. Similarly, it can handle extreme temperatures as well as max torque without breaking a sweat.

In addition to being extremely resilient, Bullet Lines claims that its torque converter is the only option on the market that comes fully equipped with everything you need to fit a Predator engine. While I can’t say for sure whether it’s true or not, one thing is certain, the added convenience this setup provides is a huge plus.

Other specifications include a 10 tooth sprocket for a #40/41 chain and a 12 tooth sprocket for a #35. Both of these come in the box.

When it comes to performance, the Bullet Lines’ torque converter is a champ. It provides more torque than your cart will ever need. The same can be said for the speed which, in my opinion, is quite a lot.

To sum it all up, the Bullet Lines’ Torque converter is made from the best materials, comes equipped with everything you need inside the box and is competitively priced. What’s not to like about it?

Mophorn Torque Converter swoops in and takes the third spot. And before you start pointing at something else let me tell you why.

Let’s start with the build quality. The Mophorn Torque Converter does not disappoint here. it is made from a combination of aluminum and steel. These metals are a good choice in my opinion.

The Aluminum keeps the weight down and Steel provides the necessary strength to endure the increased torque and high temperatures. A win-win situation in my book!

Speaking about endurance, Mophorn has done an amazing job in putting this thing together. The torque converter is well made, can engage in up to 2350 RPM and isn’t even bothered when it comes to handling high torque and temperatures. Considering its price, I think they couldn’t have done a much better job.

Having an awesome build quality is nice, but it is useless if the torque converter can’t deliver satisfactory performance. Fortunately, the Mophorn Torque Converter isn’t a slouch when it comes to performance. It provides increased speeds and a boatload of torque. I am not saying there aren’t any better-performing alternatives out there but mostly it comes out on top.

Another nice thing about this torque converter is that it comes with both a 12 Teeth for the #35 chain and 10 Teeth #40/41 chain. Couple this with a price tag that will not put a dent in your wallet and you can see why it occupies the 3rd place.

Unfortunately, there are a few things I don’t like about this offering Mophorn. The first gripe I have is the absence of Bronze Bushing on some orders. The absence of Bronze Bushing is a serious problem since it is responsible for disengaging the engine. No disengagement means your go-kart won’t stay idle.

The second one is about missing parts. Mophorn needs to up their game when it comes to these things. Nobody wants a torque converter with missing parts. And there are quite a few cases where the package came with some parts missing.

At the end of the day, if you can overlook these slight annoyances, I guarantee you will find the Mophorn torque converter an excellent buy.

I love the Predator 212CC GO Kart Torque Converter by Blast LED as much as I love its manufacturer’s name. It might cost a little bit higher than the Mophorn Torque Converter but don’t let that distract you. It is as good a product as the top 3 except a few minor issues.

Starting our discussion with the build quality and I am glad to report that there is nothing to complain about. The torque converter is well made and can take a beating. By a beating I mean it can withstand a high amount of torque and high temperatures.

Performance is an area where I found things to be interesting. You see, in its default configuration, the Blast Led’s offering favors torque over speed. As a result, it provides plenty of torque but speed remains fairly average.

However, you can change the position of the RED spring to increase the speed in exchange for a bit of torque. I want more manufacturers to do this.

In addition to the torque converter, the rest of the package is also quite good. The torque converter comes bundled with everything you need to put it together. These things include both a 12 Teeth for the #35 chain and 10 Teeth #40/41 chain. All the mountings and bolts are also included, namely 4 Mounting Bolts, 1 Crankshaft bolt, and 5 lock washers.

No product is perfect and this is also the case with the Predator 212 Go Kart Torque Converter by Blast Led. The first thing I think Blast Led should fix is the instructions. The instructions that come in the box do a really poor job of explaining the process. If you are new to this, prepare to seek help as the instructions aren’t going to serve you well.

Secondly, price-wise, I feel it is on the higher end of things.

Summing it all up, the Go Kart Torque Converter by Blast Led is an awesome product. It is durable, performs well, and comes with everything you need in the box. If you end up buying it, I think you’ll be happy with it.

If you are someone who is looking for a torque converter that doesn’t require a lot of tinkering, then the 40 Series Go Kart Torque Converter Kit by Bullet Lines is for you.

First up is the thing that makes it stand out. Bullet Lines has equipped its torque converter with a built-in jackshaft. I am so glad Bullet Lines though of this.

This means that there is no need for you to purchase a separate jackshaft and then tinker with it to fit the torque converter. Bullet Lines has integrated a jackshaft into the backplate. All you need to do is to mount the backplate and you will be good to go.

Next up is build quality and seeing as it is made by Bullet Lines I feel like I don’t need to go into detail. Bullet Lines has always made sturdy hardware and this is no different.

The backplate, the driven and the driver pully, the sprocket, in short everything is durable and can take a beating. And you can already guess what kind of a beating I am talking about. Off-road, potholes, crashes and jumps, it can take everything.

The same pattern of industry-leading quality also makes a show when it comes to performance. The converter performs admirably as it produces an ample amount of torque. The torque is enough to pull your Go-kart out of ruts and allow it to climb comfortably. The same applies to the speed which, if you are not Evel Knievel, is more than enough.

Finally rounding off the good things about this converter is the package itself. The package comes with everything you need to set this converter up. Thumbs up from my side!

Aside from the good things, there are a few things that bug me. The main gripe I have with this is the issue of missing parts. Not every order is plagued by it. But it is there and Bullet Lines should fix it. And then there is that price. It costs a lot. Let’s just leave it at that.

The converter is made from a combination of Iron and Aluminum. This combination makes sense because the Iron provides the necessary durability to withstand the strain and the Aluminum keeps the overall weight down.

What does that mean for you? A lightweight and sturdy component that can withstand the wear and tear, thus more manufacturers should start using this combination instead of the standard all-aluminum build.

Talking about wear and tear, and this is where Bravex shines. The Bravex torque converter can handle a high amount of torque and extreme temperatures. It can also engage in RPM from 2350 all the way up to 3000 albeit at 3000 it might undergo a little too much stress. However, 2350 is no problem at all. This is enough for the even the most diehard gas-head out there.

I would say the performance on the Bravex torque converter is better than most torque converters on the market. It provides plenty of torque on the low end to push your go-kart on steep climbs and plenty of speed for asphalt.

Amidst all of these awesome features, I also have a few complaints to make. The biggest of which is the lack of an instruction manual. If I were building my first go-kart, I would be frustrated right now because now I have to figure out how to put everything together.

Another thing that Bravex needs to address is the sizing of mounting bolts. The mounting bolts that come in the box are the wrong thread size. When I order a product I expect it to ship with everything it needs. Wrong mounting bolts? Now I know it doesn’t come with everything it needs.

In the end, I find Bravex’s torque converter to be a good deal when it comes to features and the price Bravex charges for it.

If you look closely at Moosun’s listing for this product you will see that they proudly claim that it is an aftermarket reproduction of the Comet TAV2.

In other words, they have so much confidence in their product that Moosun isn’t even hiding it that it’s a copy. And frankly, it doesn’t need to either. I have found Moosun go-kart torque converter to be as good as the company claims it is.

Starting off with the build quality and let me say this – For this price, you won’t find any better build torque converter out there.

It is an all-aluminum build. Moosun says it can handle both extreme torque and temperature and I don’t have any reason to doubt their claim.

In addition to good build quality, the Moosun Go Kart Torque Converter also provides pretty good performance. Enough torque, ample speed, and smooth acceleration mean you won’t be left wanting. And it also has a pretty decent engagement range of 200 – 2350 RPM. I can’t talk about you but that’s enough performance for me.

Further sweetening the deal is the inclusion of everything you need inside the box.

To sum it all up, the Moosun Go-Kart Torque Converter is a bargain if you consider what it offers. Sure it has got some kinks like the absence of any sort of instruction manual and questionable customer service. But for the price, you won’t find anything that even comes close to the kind of quality Moosun offers.

This is the second time Bravex has made an appearance on this list. And I have pretty solid reasons as to why.

It is safe to say that I love the Bravex torque converter’s build quality. The torque converter is made from a combination of iron and aluminum. It serves the same purpose as we have seen in other products on this list. This combination is perfect for providing both strengths and keeping the converter lightweight.

Talking about durability, the converter can withstand extreme torque and high temperatures. It also dissipates heat much faster than your average torque converter. While I comment about heat dissipation, I can, however, say that it can take a beating.

Moving on to performance and I am fairly surprised. I expected it to perform well but not this good. Plenty of torque at the low end increased the speed at the high end and even acceleration, no complaints on my part in this regard.

The torque converter comes packed with almost all the essentials. That means there are both the driver and the driven pully, a pair of 10 teeth and 12 teeth sprocket for #40/41 and #35 chain respectively.

Where there are qualities, there’s got to be some flaws as well. The Bravex torque converter comes without an instruction manual in the box. This is a no-no for me. Every company needs to pack an instruction manual in the box. As you can imagine, this is pretty troublesome for an amateur mechanical worker.

The other thing that annoyed me is the thing that Bravex does with mounting bolts. The Bravex torque converter ships with mounting bolts of wrong thread size.

Summing it all up, the Bravex torque converter is a pretty sweet deal in my opinion. If it were not for the flaws, it would have gotten a higher spot on the list.

At the 9th spot, we have a product from AW. It is a product that I feel could have done much better. It has the basic down but the overall execution is a little rough around the edges.

Starting our discussion in the usual way, the build quality is nice. As usual, it is made of aluminum, which makes the converter sturdy and keeps the weight down. It can comfortably handle an ample amount of torque, has good but not great heat dissipation and can engage in 2350 RPM. I am quite pleased with it and I think you should be too.

The performance of the AW Go Kart Torque Converter hasn’t disappointed me either. It provides enough torque to make off-road riding easy but I found it struggling a bit with steeper ascents. The same can be said for speeds. Good but not great.

Open the package and you will find that the AW Go Kart Torque Converter comes bundled with almost everything you need. I said almost because you won’t find a 10 teeth sprocket for #40/41 chains. Come on AW don’t make run to the store. Give me everything in the box.

Aside from this everything else is present.

The things that I don’t like about this converter are the absence of a 10 teeth sprocket for #40/41 chain which I have already addressed. In addition to this, there is also no instruction manual included. The omission of an instruction manual wouldn’t have been a big issue if the AW Go Kart Torque Converter was easier to put together. But it isn’t and any newbie trying to put it together will get utterly confused.

All in all, it is a good product that you should take a look at.

Turbine

The fluid when it exits the turbine is moving in the opposite direction. If this fluid were to hit the pump moving in the opposite direction, it would slow down the pump thus wasting energy and slowing the vehicle down. This is where the stator comes in.

Impeller

The impeller is the pump we have been talking about. It is connected with the engine and thus transmits energy from the engine to the transmission fuel. A heavier vehicle will have more stall rpm and a lighter one will have less stall rpm. The values of stall rpm are important because these are the values we need to compare to rpm at peak torque.

Get it? You need to choose the torque converter keeping the vehicle weight in mind.

Tire Size

The thing about heavier vehicles increasing the stall rpm also applies here.

Remember this: Tires with large diameters result in an increased stall rpm as compared to tires with a smaller diameter. And you know the deal with stall rpm and matching it with engine’s rpm at peak torque.
